Our training classes have typically been held during Fall, Winter and Summer sessions. In the winter we train for 8 weeks. Fall and Summer sessions train for 6 weeks. Max number of 20 players per class. There will be two to four instructors present.
The training incorporates current motor learning concepts and provides each student with an individualized plan for improvement in their throwing and pitching ability. Each student will undergo an assessment that will identify physical imbalances that may lead to injury and exercises to correct. Each class will contain a period of training aimed at preparing the body to perform, that includes explosive exercises combined with a rigorous arm care routine. The second half of the class typically involves intense throwing using a wide variety of tools to challenge our players in conjunction with objective feedback.
At the conclusion of each workout, players are taken through various techniques of recovery and gain awareness of why this is a critical part of their development as a player in terms of performance and health.
MPH101 works to create a challenging environment with a positive message. It is not meant to be easy, and it is not for everyone. Each student will undergo a period of failure, it is a great opportunity to help the player appreciate the process and develop a growth mindset. One that will help prepare them to handle adversity and thrive on the field.
